IRS Tax Notification SCAM SPAM

If you received a copy of this email (below), it’s a SCAM. 

Dear Taxpayer!

Herewith we are informing you, that you need to pay a penalty for not filing the income tax return prior to January 31, 2012.

Please note, that IRS [Section 6038(b)(1)] determines a money penalty to the amount of $10,000 for each [Form 5471] that is submitted after the due date stipulated for filing the income tax return, or does not comprise the comprehensive data described in [Section 6038(a)].

No penalty will be imposed if the company shows that the failure to file on time was due to reasonable cause.

Here’s How to Report and Get Even with the Scammer

I reported this to the hosting company and within a few minutes, they wrote me back saying “The problem site is no longer active”

Reporting this only took a few minutes and may have prevented 100′s of people from getting ripped off and victimized.  This is why EVERY TIME you get spam, you need to report it.
